Meghalaya’s Police Outposts Undergo Major Renovations for Enhanced Working Conditions
Guwahati, July 28, 2024 — Police outposts in Meghalaya have undergone significant improvements under the Police Infrastructure Renovation Fund (PIRF) scheme, ensuring enhanced and progressive working conditions. The Meghalaya government has upgraded several police outposts, ensuring the provision of modern amenities like toilets, drinking water, and waiting rooms.
Among the upgraded facilities, the Mallangkona Police Outpost saw an investment of Rs 17.5 lakhs. Many outposts across the state had previously been burdened with challenging conditions, impacting efficiency and comfort.
The National People’s Party (NPP) took to the microblogging site X to hail the transformational shift that these outposts have received. The party stated, “From old and worn-out outposts to new and improved facilities. Under CM Conrad Sangma’s leadership, the government has upgraded several Police Outposts with the PIRF scheme. These renovations provide modern amenities like toilets, drinking water, and waiting rooms.”
This initiative reflects the Meghalaya government’s commitment to improving the working environment for its police force, ensuring they are better equipped to serve the community.
