Meghalaya’s Reservation Policy Committee Seeks Stakeholder Input for Policy Revisions

Northeast Desk, 10th June: Meghalaya’s State Reservation Policy Committee extends an invitation to stakeholders and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in East Jaintia Hills for feedback on potential changes to the reservation policy. The initiative aims to gather diverse perspectives before finalising any revisions.

In a tweet, Cabinet Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh encourages interested parties to submit their recommendations. Suggestions can be sent to the committee’s Secretary, L.K. Diengdoh, or via email at rpexpertcommittee@gmail.com.

Lyngdoh underscores the importance of providing complete details, including name, address, category, and reasons for or against any proposed policy changes. This comprehensive information will aid the committee in making informed decisions.

Constituted by the Meghalaya government, the Reservation Policy Committee is tasked with reviewing the existing reservation system and proposing amendments, if necessary, to ensure fair representation and opportunities for various communities within the state.

By soliciting input from diverse stakeholders, the committee aims to gather a wide range of perspectives and concerns, facilitating a thorough assessment of the prevailing reservation framework.
