Meghalaya’s Women SHG Delegation Honored with Vice President’s Meeting in Delhi
Shillong: A significant event unfolded in New Delhi as a group of women representing Self Help Groups (SHGs) from Meghalaya were granted an audience with the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, at his official office. This meeting marked a pivotal moment, highlighting the growing impact of women’s empowerment initiatives in the northeastern state.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma conveyed his immense satisfaction, labeling the interaction as a moment of “great honour and encouragement” for the state’s burgeoning SHG movement. He emphasized the profound significance of the meeting, acknowledging the hard work and determination of these women.
The Chief Minister described Vice President Dhankhar as “welcoming and humble,” and articulated the deep meaning this engagement held for the SHG members.
