Members of APPSC Sworn In by Arunachal Pradesh Governor
Northeast Desk, 13th December: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.) administered the ‘Oath of Office’ and ‘Oath of Secrecy’ to the newly appointed members of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on the 13th of December 2023, in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.
Col. Koj Tari (Retd.) and Rosy Taba officially took their oaths as members of the APPSC during the ceremony, which was overseen by Chief Secretary Dharmendra, IAS. Notable attendees included the First Lady of the State, Anagha Parnaik, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Cabinet Ministers, and distinguished guests, along with other officials and public functionaries.
This decision was made following a thorough evaluation of recommendations from a selection committee and the judgment of the Itanagar Permanent Bench of the Gauhati High Court. Prof Lingfa, Prof Ashan Riddi, Colonel (Retd) Koj Tari, and Rosy Taba were appointed alongside the aforementioned members.
The appointments are designated for a term of six years or until the appointees reach the age of 62, in accordance with the order issued by the Administrative Reforms Department. The Governor is set to administer the oath to the newly appointed chairman and members at Raj Bhawan, marking a significant reconstitution for the APPSC.
This development holds particular significance, especially in the aftermath of the AE question paper leakage scandal that drew public attention on August 29, 2022. The scandal, which underwent investigation by the SIC, uncovered a deep-rooted conspiracy, resulting in several arrests.
