Guwahati: An unidentified group of miscreants shot at a middle-aged man, leaving him with severe wounds in Dibrugarh district of Assam on Monday evening.
The incident was reported from a tire shop near Laluka village.
According to reports, the man was travelling toward Dibrugarh University when he stopped close to the tyre shop. He was suddenly shot in the stomach by two masked criminals, who then escaped.
Although he was shot at point blank range, reports said that the bullet wound fortunately wasn’t fatal.
The victim identified as Siddharth Rajkonwar limped a short distance before falling on the ground.
The attack’s motivation, however, is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, local police have been informed of the incident.
