Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah officially inaugurates Ambubachi Mela
Guwahati, 23 June: Assam tourism minister Jayanta Malla Baruah officially inaugurated and welcomed the pilgrims to Ambubachi Mela in a ceremony held on Thursday at Kamakhya Railway Station.
The Minister officially greeted everyone who had already arrived to the city for this holy festival from all around the nation and even abroad in his speech.
He told the media during his briefing that all essential preparations had been made by all involved departments and that Doloi Samaj had actively participated in all significant choices.
The Minister also maintained the earlier decision that during festival days devotees were not permitted to climb to the Kamakhya temple from the foothills after 9 p.m.
“All pilgrims who climbed to temple before 9 P.M can eventually move down to the foothills by midnight,” said Jayanta Malla Baruah.
According to Minister Baruah, this choice which will help prevent turmoil and uphold discipline throughout the festival was made after careful consideration and collaboration with Kamakhya officials. Additionally, he added that when the Devalaya door opens on June 26, there won’t be a VIP Darshan.
At the same occasion on Thursday evening, the Minister also flagged off Bus service to Pandu Port camps from Kamakhya Railway Station.
