Minor Quake Jolts Manipur’s Bishnupur District
Imphal: A mild earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale rattled the Bishnupur district of Manipur early Friday morning. The tremor, which struck at 4:42 AM, was centered at a depth of 10 kilometers.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the quake’s epicenter was located at 24.64 degrees North latitude and 93.83 degrees East longitude.
Thankfully, no reports of casualties or significant property damage have emerged thus far. However, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and further updates are awaited.
Manipur, being situated in a seismically active region, experiences frequent tremors. This incident underscores the need for preparedness and awareness among the local population.
