Miscreants vandalise mosque in Assam’s Kokrajhar
Guwahati: Situation turned violent after unidentified miscreants allegedly vandalised a Jama Masjid in the Dholmara area of Kokrajhar district in Assam on Monday.
According to reports, miscreants destroyed the mosque breaking water taps and pelting stones and bricks, inflicting extensive damage to the masjid’s property.
Following the incident, a large crowd gathered on the masjid grounds.
Meanwhile, officers from the Kokrajhar Police Station visited to the spot of the incident in Dholmara to assess the situation. The authorities have not been able to identify the miscreants or the circumstances surrounding the vandalism.
However, the police officials suspect that the incident was caused by those who wanted to disturb the peace in the area.
