Guwahati, 2nd October: A 26-year-old woman constable from Mizoram, serving in the Delhi Police, allegedly died by suicide South Delhi, officials said on October 2.
The incident was reported in the Mehrauli area.
The deceased identified as Lalthan Mawil, hailing from Mizoram allegedly hanged herself in her rented apartment.
“It was found that the victim, hailing from Mizoram, who was posted as a constable at Kishangarh Police Station committed suicide at her rented apartment in Mehrauli area. She committed suicide by hanging herself,” Delhi Police officials said in a statement to the news agency PTI.
A suicide note has also been recovered from her home, officials informed.
Meanwhile, the body has been taken into custody by the officials and has sent it for post-mortem.
Officials further informed that an investigation into the matter has been launched.
