Mizoram: 29 Surrendered Myanmarese Soldiers Repatriated by Assam Rifles

Northeast Desk, 19t November: Assam Rifles facilitated the repatriation of 29 Myanmarese soldiers who had surrendered on November 16. The soldiers, involved in a gun battle with People’s Army CNDF near the Mizoram border, were airlifted via an Air Force chopper and handed over to Myanmarese authorities.

Adverse weather conditions initially delayed the repatriation, which had been agreed upon following negotiations between CNDF leaders and the Myanmar Military after the intense clash in the Tuibual area.

The surrendered soldiers had relinquished their arms to the Mizoram Police before the repatriation process commenced.
