Mizoram: Assam Rifles Hosts 14th Rozgar Mela in Aizawl, Offers Jobs to 126 Candidates

Aizawl: The Assam Rifles, under the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), organized the 14th Rozgar Mela in Aizawl, Mizoram, on December 23, marking a significant stride in employment empowerment.

At the event, 126 candidates were handed appointment letters for roles across various prestigious organizations, reflecting the government’s commitment to uplifting the youth of the region.

The appointment letters included placements in Assam Rifles (78), Department of Posts (11), Sashastra Seema Bal (1), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (2), Indian Railways (1), and Mizoram University (33). This initiative, spearheaded by Assam Rifles on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs, showcased the collaborative efforts of various sectors to drive development and provide meaningful career opportunities.

Professor S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and Panchayati Raj, graced the event and personally distributed the appointment letters. His presence underlined the government’s dedication to harnessing the potential of the nation’s youth. Brigadier Girish Upadhya, Deputy Inspector General of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, along with senior officials from other paramilitary forces like the ITBP and SSB, also attended the ceremony, emphasizing the united effort toward empowering communities.

The Rozgar Mela stands as more than a recruitment drive—it is a movement reflecting the government’s resolve to address aspirations and strengthen the nation’s foundations. By opening pathways to secure and impactful careers, the initiative uplifts communities, particularly in regions like Mizoram, fostering a brighter future.

A cornerstone of this success was the rigorous pre-recruitment training conducted by Assam Rifles, which prepared candidates for the challenges of the selection process. Covering physical fitness and guidance for written exams, the training proved instrumental. A total of 210 candidates in Aizawl, 23 in Serchhip, and 52 in Lunglei underwent this mentorship, resulting in 38 candidates clearing both the physical and written exams and 32 securing positions on the SSC (GD) merit list.

The 2AR ground in Aizawl emerged as a key launchpad for this success, hosting training that enabled candidates to transform their aspirations into reality. This achievement highlights the pivotal role of Assam Rifles in fostering opportunities and nurturing talent in the region.

With the successful conduct of the Rozgar Mela for the second time in Mizoram, Assam Rifles reaffirms its mission to bridge the gap between the youth and their dreams. By continuing such transformative initiatives, the organization remains a vital force in shaping the future of the nation.
