Mizoram: Assam Rifles Recovers Arms, Grenades

Guwahati: Assam Rifles troopers recovered rifles, grenades, and warlike supplies in Mizoram’s Champhai district near the Indo-Myanmar border.

The army carried out an operation near the district’s Tyao Kawn village in response to particular information.

According to reports, the team had specific information regarding a probable deal involving the sale of warlike stores near Tyao Kawn village.

“The Assam Rifles squad suspected the transportation of warlike supplies and acted quickly to seize the suspects. However, the individuals were surprised and fled to Myanmar. The suspected persons, in their haste to avoid being arrested by their own team, abandoned the bag with warlike supplies on the site. The usage of such warlike stores may have put innocent individuals in danger and led to a slew of unlawful acts. This recovery has spared the lives of many people “ANI reported.

Two 9 mm pistols, one 0.32 revolver, seven homemade hand grenades, 15 rounds of 0.32 revolver ammo, two Tac Phone/RS walkie-talkies, one Tac Vest, and one power bank were retrieved.

Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
