Mizoram: Assam Rifles Seize Heroin Worth Rs 75.45 Lakh
Northeast Desk, 24th September: In a successful operation against drug trafficking, Assam Rifles personnel seized heroin worth Rs 75.45 lakh near the Myanmar border in Mizoram. Acting on a tip-off and in collaboration with the state excise and narcotics department, Assam Rifles personnel recovered 107.78 grams of heroin in Chhungte village, Champhai district, on Friday night.
The seized heroin, concealed in nine soap cases, has been handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department. One person has been arrested in connection with the seizure. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related activities in the region.
