Mizoram Assembly Election: Debate Held by Mizoram People’s Forum in Aizawl North-III Constituency
Northeast Desk, 1st November: In anticipation of the upcoming Mizoram assembly election, a debate was organized in the Aizawl North-III Assembly Constituency. The event, facilitated by the Mizoram People’s Forum (MPF) and the Local People Forum (LPF) of Aizawl North-III (ST) Assembly Constituency, offered a common platform for the six candidates vying for the seat to present their party’s agendas.
Each candidate was granted 15 minutes to share their political manifesto with the audience. F Lallura, Chairman of the Local People Forum, emphasized that this event provided a unique opportunity for candidates to directly engage with the electorate.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Kiren Rijiju, expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prospects in the upcoming Mizoram elections scheduled for November 7. He believes that the BJP’s presence in the legislative assembly would contribute significantly to Mizoram’s development.
He also mentioned that a BJP victory in Mizoram would result in a double-engine government, both at the central and state levels.
As the election date approaches, various political parties are making their promises and campaigning efforts to secure a strong position in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. Mizoram is one of the five states holding assembly elections, with the vote count set for December 3.
