Mizoram Assembly Election Results: ZPM Candidate Lalnghinglova Hmar Wins Aizawl West II Constituency

Northeast Desk, 4th December: In the ongoing Mizoram Assembly Elections, Lalnghinglova Hmar, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) candidate from the Aizawl West II constituency, has emerged victorious.

Hmar, who is also the honorary secretary of the Mizoram Football Association and an executive committee member of the All India Football Federation, secured the seat.

The election results are unfolding in the context of an anticipated hung assembly in Mizoram, as indicated by most exit polls released on November 30.

The main contenders, including MNF, Congress, and ZPM, competed across all 40 constituencies, while the BJP fielded candidates in 23 constituencies.

Meanwhile, ZPM leader Lalduhoma has announced plans to meet Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati to stake a claim to form the government.

Lalduhoma, the Chief Ministerial face of ZPM, expressed the expectation of a swearing-in ceremony within this month. He also highlighted the financial crisis facing Mizoram and emphasized the need for financial reform. The election results will play a crucial role in determining the political landscape and governance in the state.
