Mizoram: Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) Extends Christmas Gift to Myanmar Refugees in Aizawl

Northeast Desk, 22nd December: The Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) on December 22 organized a relief effort for Myanmar refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Aizawl and surrounding areas. With a total expenditure of Rs. 4 lakh, the CYMA distributed essential relief materials, including rice, dal, edible oil, potatoes, and eggs.

The donation distribution ceremony took place at the Central YMA Office in Tuikhuahtlang, where five pick-up trucks were employed to transport the relief items. The relief effort, symbolized as a Christmas present, aimed to offer support to brothers and sisters who sought refuge in Mizoram due to conflicts in their homeland.

During the flagoff ceremony, CYMA President Lalhmachhuana expressed the association’s welcoming and compassionate stance towards the refugees and IDPs facing mental and emotional challenges. Leaders from the Network for Unity Association (NUA), representing the Myanmar community, were also present at the event. The relief initiative reflects the spirit of solidarity and goodwill during the festive season.
