Mizoram CM Lalduhoma Launches SDG and State Project Monitoring Dashboards for Enhanced Development Oversight
Mizoram: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurated two pivotal digital tools on October 28—the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Dashboard and the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Dashboard (MPLAN)—designed to enhance the monitoring and accountability of developmental projects across the state.
The launch event, held at the Conference Hall of the Planning and Programme Implementation Department, showcased Mizoram’s commitment to advancing sustainable development.
In his address, Chief Minister Lalduhoma underscored the importance of sustainable development in driving Mizoram’s growth and expressed confidence that the dashboards would foster a transparent and accountable governance framework. “Our goal is to create a governance model that prioritizes transparency and accountability,” Lalduhoma stated.
He highlighted that the SDG Dashboard will serve as a key platform for setting the state’s development priorities, ensuring that projects align closely with the Sustainable Development Goals.
To further enhance project oversight, the state government has established the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee, inclusive of members from various political parties and NGOs. This committee will utilize real-time data provided by the MPLAN Dashboard to monitor ongoing projects, fostering a collaborative and inclusive approach to governance.
Lalduhoma noted, “This dashboard will give us immediate insights into project statuses, enabling effective daily oversight and optimizing development outcomes throughout Mizoram.”
The SDG Dashboard, partially funded by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions along with Mizoram’s Planning and Programme Implementation Department, was developed in partnership with UNDP. It is designed to collect data on Local Indicator Frameworks (LIF), which are customized to Mizoram’s unique priorities, infrastructure, and resources, covering indicators at the village, district, urban, and state levels.
Accessible to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Department Heads, and other officials, the dashboard also includes a public access feature that provides citizens with reports and graphical insights, promoting community engagement in the state’s sustainable development agenda.
