Aizwal: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who also holds the Finance portfolio, is set to present the state’s annual budget for the 2025-2026 financial year in the Mizoram Assembly on March 4.
This will mark his second budget presentation after the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) came to power in December 2023.
The budget session of the Mizoram Assembly will commence on February 19, with Governor Gen Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd) delivering his maiden gubernatorial address on the first day of the session.
The session, according to Mizoram Assembly Commissioner and Secretary Vanlalthantlingi, will continue until March 20.
In a statement to PTI, Vanlalthantlingi said that the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), chaired by Speaker Lalbiakzama, had finalized a detailed schedule for the session.
The budget session promises to be a crucial one, as it will set the financial tone for the state’s development initiatives in the coming year.
