Mizoram Congress Promises Job Creation and Health Insurance in Upcoming Elections

Northeast Desk, 29th October: The Congress party’s state president in Mizoram, Lalsawta, has declared that the party will form the next government in Mizoram and has pledged to create jobs for 1 lakh people once in power.

Addressing a public meeting in his Aizawl West-III constituency, Lalsawta emphasized the need to remove the BJP from the Centre and its “ally” MNF from the state. He expressed confidence that the Congress would come to power based on reports from various parts of the state and with the support of the people.

Lalsawta also announced that the Congress, when in power, would generate 1 lakh jobs and provide health insurance coverage of Rs 15 lakhs to each family that doesn’t have a regular government employee among its members. These promises are part of the Congress party’s election manifesto.

The upcoming Mizoram assembly elections are scheduled for November 7, with vote counting on December 3. The MNF is part of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) in the region and a constituent of the NDA at the Centre, although it doesn’t collaborate with the BJP in Mizoram.
