Mizoram Declares Public Holiday on November 7, 2023 for Assembly Elections

Northeast Desk, 31st October: The Governor of Mizoram has declared November 7, 2023, as a public holiday to facilitate voting in the general election to the Mizoram Legislative Assembly.

This holiday extends to all government servants, employees of Central and State Public undertakings, educational institutions, and banking institutions in Mizoram.

The upcoming elections will see a fierce contest between the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), the Congress, and the BJP.

Candidates from these parties will compete in all 40 seats, with additional contenders from the Aam Aadmi Party and Independent candidates vying for a chance to serve in the state assembly.
