Mizoram Elections 2023: Dry Days Declared Ahead of November 7th Vote

Northeast Desk, 3rd November: The Mizoram government, in preparation for the upcoming November 7th elections, has officially declared a 48-hour period of dry days.

 According to a notification by the State Commissioner for Excise and Narcotics, these dry days will be in effect throughout the entire state, commencing from 4 pm on November 5th and continuing till 4 pm on the day of the election, November 7th.

Furthermore, an additional dry day has been announced for December 3rd, coinciding with the vote counting process.

This dry day will remain in effect until the completion of the counting process, as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, in light of the Mizoram General Assembly Election.

It’s important to note that the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in military canteens will also be prohibited during these specified days.

The Mizoram Assembly Election for its 40-member assembly is scheduled for November 7th, and the counting of votes is set to take place on December 3rd.
