Mizoram: Escalating Tensions on Indo-Myanmar Border as Myanmar Army and Chinland Defence Force Clash
Northeast Desk, 13th November: Tensions soar along the Indo-Myanmar border as the Myanmar Army and Chinland Defence Force (CDF) engage in a heated exchange of fire, raising concerns about the safety of border regions. Reports indicate that CDF has seized control of the Myanmar Army camp in Rihkhawdar Village, a mere 4 kilometers from Zokhawthar, Mizoram.
In a retaliatory move, a Myanmar Army jet fighter dropped a bomb twice this morning, intensifying the conflict and prompting an influx of refugees into Mizoram. Over 700 refugees have crossed the border, seeking safety amid the escalating hostilities. The situation has resulted in injuries, with around 17 individuals, including women and minors, being brought to Mizoram for medical treatment. Some have been referred to the District Hospital in Champhai, highlighting the urgent humanitarian concerns arising from the ongoing clashes.
