Mizoram: Foreign origin cigarettes worth Rs 2.38 crore seized in Champhai

Northeast Desk, 25th December: In a successful operation, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Customs Preventive Force Champhai, seized 109 cases of foreign-origin cigarettes valued at Rs 2.38 crore in the general area of World Bank Road, Zokhawthar, Champhai district.

This joint operation, conducted by Assam Rifles and Customs Preventive Force Champhai based on specific information, resulted in the recovery of 109 cases of foreign-origin cigarettes in the general area of World Bank Road, Zokhawthar.

The entire consignment of foreign-origin cigarettes, with a total worth of Rs 2,38,44,315/- (Rupees two crore thirty-eight lakh forty-four thousand three hundred fifteen only), has been handed over to Customs Preventive Force Champhai for further legal proceedings.
