Northeast Desk, 5th November: The Mizoram government has issued an order declaring dry days for the entire state from November 5 to November 7 in light of the General Assembly Elections 2023. The decision is a supersession of previous orders dated October 13 and November 1, 2023.
The order, issued by the Commissionerate of Excise & Narcotics, is in accordance with Rule 5 of the Mizoram Liquor (Prohibition) Rules, 2022. It enforces prohibition during the specified period to maintain law and order during the election process, as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.
These dry days will be in effect from 5:00 PM on November 5 to 4:00 PM on November 7, 2023.
