Mizoram Government to Review Staff Performance, Plans Strict Monitoring of Development Projects

Aizawl – Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced on Tuesday that the state will conduct a thorough review of its government employees to ensure only those fit for service continue in their roles.

Addressing attendees at an economic summit, Lalduhoma revealed that each department has been directed to form dedicated service review committees to assess employee performance and suitability for government employment.

“These committees will evaluate employees who may not meet the necessary standards to continue their service or qualify for state employment,” the chief minister said. He emphasized that if required, the government is prepared to take termination measures against employees deemed unfit.

In addition to personnel evaluations, Lalduhoma outlined the state government’s plans to implement stricter oversight on all development projects. Effective immediately, government departments are required to submit project proposals through Mizoram’s planning department before they are forwarded to the central government. This measure aims to ensure consistent and high-quality monitoring of ongoing and future state initiatives.

The Chief Minister’s remarks underscore a commitment to bolstering administrative efficiency and accountability in Mizoram.
