Mizoram Governor and Naval Chief Flag Off ‘Soldierathon’ in Delhi

Aizawl: A significant event unfolded in Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi, as Mizoram Governor General VK Singh and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Tripathi jointly flagged off the ‘Soldierathon – run with soldiers and run for soldiers’ on this Saturday, April 20th. The initiative garnered enthusiastic participation from runners across the city.

Admiral Tripathi, speaking at the event, expressed his appreciation for the marathon, noting the palpable excitement among the participants. He emphasized the inspirational aspect of the ‘Soldierathon’, highlighting its role in encouraging individuals to prioritize their physical well-being, underscoring the interconnectedness of physical and overall health.

Governor VK Singh elaborated on the dual purpose of the ‘Soldierathon’. He stated that the event was specifically designed to maximize the participation of soldiers, while simultaneously serving as a source of inspiration for the wider public to embrace running as a regular practice. He proudly announced that approximately 4,000 individuals had registered for this meaningful event.

The core objective of the ‘Soldierathon’ extends beyond promoting fitness. It stands as a tribute to the nation’s martyrs and wounded warriors. The marathon aims to foster a supportive national environment, educating citizens, particularly the youth, about the profound sacrifices made by the country’s brave soldiers who tirelessly safeguard India’s integrity, unity, sovereignty, and safety. The event seeks to instill a deep sense of pride and respect for these dedicated individuals.

Coinciding with this event, another marathon, the ‘Fit Sundays on Cycle’, was also organized at the Kartavaya Path in Delhi, further highlighting the city’s commitment to promoting health and fitness initiatives.
