Mizoram Governor’s Aid Bolsters Orphanages and Welfare Homes in Aizawl

Aizawl: Aizawl witnessed a distribution of financial assistance initiated by Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh, aimed at supporting the region’s orphanage and welfare homes.

The event, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall on May 5, saw Aizawl Deputy Commissioner Er. Lalhriapuia, IAS, oversee the disbursement of funds.

A total of Rs 1,50,000 was allocated among thirteen institutions dedicated to the care of vulnerable children and individuals.

The beneficiaries included Thutak Nunpuitu Team (TNT) and Muanna In Boys Home, each receiving Rs 20,000, while Hermon Children’s Home, Gan Sabra, Bethani Children’s Home, Motherless Babies Home (Khatla), Abundant Life Home (Leitan), SA Motherless Babies Home (Tuikaul), Hmangaihna In (Durtlang), Ferrando Children’s Home, Rephidim Home, Hmangaihte Run (Zemabawk), and the Spastic Society of Mizoram each received Rs 10,000.

Representatives from the recipient homes conveyed their sincere appreciation for the Governor’s support and the Mizoram government’s ongoing commitment. They also acknowledged the consistent assistance provided by various non-governmental organizations, churches, and individual donors, emphasizing that these contributions are deeply valued and remembered in their prayers.

The distribution, facilitated under the Governor’s Financial Assistance programme, highlights the administration’s focus on reinforcing social welfare institutions that operate at the community level.
