Mizoram: Heroin worth Rs 2.06 crore seized by Assam Rifles in Champhai district, one Myanmar national arrested
Northeast Desk, 4th November: In its ongoing campaign against smuggling activities, Assam Rifles seized 295.28 grams of heroin valued at Rs 2.06 crore in the Champhai district of Mizoram on November 3, 2023.
According to reliable sources, a joint team of Assam Rifles and the Excise and Narcotics department retrieved the heroin from a Myanmar national.
The individual in question has been apprehended by security personnel, and necessary legal actions have been initiated against the person.
Meanwhile, the entire consignment of Heroin No 4, with an estimated value of Rupees 2,06,69,600 (Rupees Two Crore Six Lakh Sixty Nine Thousand Six Hundred Only), along with the accused, has been transferred to the Excise and Narcotics Department in Champhai for further legal proceedings.
