Mizoram: Less than 500 samples tested within 24 hours
Guwahati: In the north-eastern state of Mizoram, the unprecedented timings of COVID-19 and its low-testing figures, leading to a lower positive rate, have been considered as an immediate alarm for the region.
Aggressive testing and contract tracing are the advised techniques by medical fraternities around the world, which could result in a large number of citizens testing positive for the viral infection.
It’s essential because just telling people with minor symptoms to stay at home will spread infections throughout the household and community.
It’s worth noting that the north-eastern state of Mizoram has tested a total of 443 samples in the last 24 hours, with 37 samples belonging to males and 44 samples belonging to females.
According to the latest information from the state Department of Information and Public Relations, Mizoram has recorded 247 new COVID-19 cases and six fatalities in the last 24 hours (DIPR).
Furthermore, according to figures supplied by the state administration today, the daily positive rate is 18.28 percent.
The total number of active cases is now 2821. In Mizoram, there have been a total of 1,38,293 COVID-19 cases documented thus far. The lethal sickness has claimed the lives of 522 people.
According to the DIPR study, 54 of the total samples tested belonged to symptomatic patients, whereas 27 belonged to asymptomatic patients.
In addition, the total recovery rate in the state’s north-eastern region is 1,34,950. No samples were examined using RT-PCR, True NAT, or FIA, according to the official declaration. The 81 additional cases, on the other hand, were confirmed by a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
