Mizoram: Man Apprehended in Champhai With Heroin

Aizwal: The Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department, in a joint operation with Assam Rifles, successfully apprehended a man in Champhai district on January 30th.

The arrest followed the seizure of 112 grams of heroin from his possession.

The individual, a resident of Zotlang, Champhai, is now facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

This incident comes on the heels of a significant drug bust by Assam Rifles on January 27th, where 2.27 kg of heroin valued at Rs 7.64 crore was confiscated near the Indo-Myanmar border in the same district.

These consecutive seizures highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating the illicit drug trade within Mizoram.
