Mizoram: NCC Spreads Awareness in Border Village Zokhawthar
Zokhawthar, Champhai District, Mizoram – The 20 Mizo Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC), operating under the Silchar Group, orchestrated a significant outreach event today in the border village of Zokhawthar. The Vibrant Village Programme, a key component of the Government of India’s comprehensive rural development efforts, focused on disseminating information regarding crucial social welfare schemes and fostering stronger community involvement.
The day witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets representing diverse educational institutions throughout Champhai district. They were joined by their dedicated Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Caretaker Officers (CTOs), teachers, and a substantial number of local inhabitants, all actively supporting the initiative in collaboration with the local administration.
A vibrant awareness rally served as a central activity, commencing from Zokhawthar High School and proceeding through the bustling main market area situated near the Indo-Myanmar Border Integrated Check Post (ICP). The rally effectively conveyed messages of unity and the importance of civic responsibility to the local populace.
Participants in the rally carried eye-catching banners and placards that underscored vital themes, including the need for continued development, the significance of social responsibility among citizens, and the importance of active civic participation in community affairs.
The programme culminated in a series of inspiring speeches delivered by respected local dignitaries and senior NCC officers. These addresses served to motivate the attending cadets, encouraging them to take a proactive role in leading various community-centric initiatives such as anti-drug campaigns, afforestation efforts, blood donation drives, and cleanliness campaigns within their respective communities.
