Mizoram Police accuses Assam Police of Kidnapping Worker
Guwahati: Even though Assam and Mizoram had agreed to the Centre’s decision to maintain peace and solve the border issues, the Mizoram Police on Thursday alleged that one worker from Mizoram was allegedly ‘kidnapped’ by Assam Police.
Mizoram Police alleged that one of its workers involved in a road construction work at Aitlang was blindfolded and kidnapped by Assam police on Thursday.
After the allegations of the Mizoram Police, Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi district in Assam, Rohan Kumar Jha made an allegation claiming that Mizoram was carrying out certain construction on the territory that belonged to Assam.
The Government of Assam as per an NDTV report had also claimed that the person which is reported to be kidnapped was an excavator driver and he was just confronted by the Assam Police but the police team following the confrontation had let him go back to Mizoram. The government had also claimed that the Assam Police did not do anything illegal as alleged by the Mizoram Police.
