Mizoram: Polling Parties Set to Ensure Secure Assembly Elections in Aizawl

Northeast Desk, 6th November: Polling parties are gearing up for their crucial duties as they depart for their designated polling stations in preparation for the assembly elections set to take place tomorrow, on November 7 in Aizawl of Mizoram.

Saizikpuii, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, affirmed that the polling teams are in the process of acquiring the necessary Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and polling materials.

Additionally, she emphasized that a dedicated team of security personnel will accompany each polling party, ensuring that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to guarantee a smooth and secure electoral process.

As part of the election process, a total of 2,058 votes have already been cast through home voting, with 7,497 votes received via postal ballots at designated facilitation centers for the Mizoram Assembly elections, as confirmed by an official from the Mizoram CEO office.

By 5 PM on Saturday, a total of 9,555 votes were cast through home voting and postal ballots, as per the official.
