Mizoram Quarry Collapse: PM Modi Announces Ex-Gratia Of Rs 2 Lakh For Kin
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow on the death of the workers a stone quarry that occurred on November 14 in Hnahthial district of Mizoram.
According to the prime minister, the kin of each deceased person would receive an ex-gratia payment from PMNRF of Rs. 2 lakh.
He has also declared that all individuals injured in the shocking incident will receive compensation of Rs 50,000 each.
Taking to twitter, the PMO wrote, “My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones due to the tragic stone quarry collapse in Mizoram. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh would be given from PMNRF to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.”
It should be noted that in the stone quarry collapse at Maudarh village in Mizoram, 11 bodies have been found and one person is still missing.
To find the body of the remaining persons, teams from the BSF, Assam Rifles, NDRF, state police and district administration are conducting search operations.
