Mizoram: Schools to be reopen from April 5
Guwahati: In view of the improving Covid-19 situation in Mizoram, the state government has decided to reopen all schools from April 5.
State education minister Lalchhandama Ralte informed at a meeting of school department officials and representatives of teachers’ associations on Tuesday.
Ralte said “Students’ careers have been substantially impacted, since schools were unable to open properly for a long time owing to the Covid-19 outbreak.”
He stated that the decision was made after speaking with senior authorities and after a thorough examination of normal operating procedures.
“All the legalities and required arrangements for the re-opening of schools across the state have been made,” the minister added.
Students who were unable to pass their class 10 and 12 board exams this year have been given special consideration.
Due of the pandemic’s spread, schools were closed for several months beginning in March 2020.
