Mizoram: Search Continues For Missing Assam Cop During Election Duty

Northeast Desk, 9th November: The search is still underway for a missing 43-year-old Assam police constable who went missing during election duty for the recently concluded Mizoram assembly polls.

Sabin Nath, a member of the 9th battalion of Assam police has been missing on November 5 from Ngopa village in Saitual district, near the Manipur border.

State Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Lalbiakthanga Khiangte confirmed the ongoing search efforts to locate the missing officer. Sabin Nath and his colleagues were deployed in Ngopa village for election duty.

Deputy Commissioner Lalngura Tlau also revealed that a commandant from the 9th battalion of Assam police arrived from Guwahati to assess the situation. Meanwhile, the Assam police personnel deployed at Ngopa are scheduled to leave for Madhya Pradesh to participate in assembly election duty.
