Mizoram: Security Forces Recover Over 700 kgs of Explosives in Aizawl; 2 arrested
Northeast Desk, 13th March: Security forces in Aizawl on late Tuesday made a significant recovery of explosives, totaling over 700 kgs, in a joint operation conducted by the Sairang Police Station and the Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles.
The operation led to the discovery of 28 cartons of True Blast slurry explosive, with each carton weighing 25 kg, and four cartons of detonator caps, each containing 250 detonator caps and weighing 12 kg, in Aizawl’s Sairang locality. The total weight of the explosives seized amounted to 750 kgs.
According to sources, the shipment was intercepted by three strategically placed mobile vehicle check posts, along with a main team. The vehicles were stopped on Sairang Road, en route from Lengpui to Aizawl, with intentions to transport the explosives to Manipur via Tipaimukh.
