Mizoram’s Social Worker Sangthankima Receives Padma Shri for Outstanding Contribution

Northeast Desk, 10th May: Aizawl’s esteemed social worker, Sangthankima, was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu during the Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 9. Sangthankima’s remarkable achievements in the realm of social service, particularly his stewardship of Mizoram’s largest orphanage, ‘Thutak Nunpuitu Team’, spanning over three decades, earned him this recognition.

Through his organization, Sangthankima has been a stalwart advocate for children’s welfare, addiction rehabilitation, HIV-AIDS awareness, education, and various other civic causes in the state. His tireless efforts have provided shelter and rehabilitation to countless orphans, differently-abled individuals, and drug addicts, significantly impacting the lives of the marginalized sections of society.
