Tathangchen, Sikkim: In a significant move to preserve Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage, MLA Tenzing Norbu Lamtha, along with Councilor Pema Lhamu Lamtha and officials from the Culture Department, conducted a thorough inspection of the historic Manilakhang Gumpa in Tathangchen.
The inspection aimed to evaluate the current state of the centuries-old gumpa and identify areas in need of urgent restoration and maintenance. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding Sikkim’s cultural heritage while promoting tourism through well-preserved historical sites.
Expressing the importance of preserving such cultural landmarks, MLA Lamtha stated, “Manilakhang Gumpa is a testament to our state’s spiritual and cultural history. Its restoration is crucial not only for our heritage but also to enhance tourism prospects in the region.”
