National Desk, 12 June: A 24 years old model died and a man was injured during a fashion show. The incident took place after a lighting truss (iron pillar) fell on top of them while they were walking the ramp during a fashion show in a studio located in Noida’s Film City area on Sunday.
According to reports, police arrived at the scene immediately and took the injured man to a nearby hospital.
The man who was injured have been identified as Bobby Raj and the model who died on spot have been identified as Vanshika Chopra. Reportedly, both of them attended the fashion show where the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m.
The show’s promoters and the individual who put the lighting truss in place were both questioned by the police. According to the police, a case has been registered against them and the deceased’s body has been sent for a postmortem.
The police also stated that they had identified the families of both victims.
Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner Police (ADCP) Shakti Awasthi said, “Vanshika Chopra died due to the falling truss during the fashion show in the studio of Film City. The panchnama of the dead body has been sent for postmortem. Further action is underway.”
Moreover, apart from the organisers of the fashion show, four people have been arrested for their work in lighting up. And the police also said that the fashion show was organised without any permission.
This incident has cast a shadow of mourning in the modeling world of Noida. Police said the incident will be investigated thoroughly.
