Mohan Bhagwat Hoists Tricolor at RSS Headquarters in Nagpur On 76th I-Day

Guwahati: The national anthem was performed before the tricolour was raised at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur on Monday in honour of the country’s 76th Independence Day.

Prior to this, the RSS altered its social media profile photo in response to a request from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

From the Red Fort in New Delhi’s ramparts, PM Modi raised the national flag and gave the customary speech to the country.

Before giving his speech, Modi travelled to Rajghat to honour Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

Along with inspecting the National Flag across the moat below the walls, the Guard of Honour that was posted there was also examined by Modi.

On his arrival in the Red Fort, he was received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt and Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar.

A combined Inter-Services and Delhi Police Guard then gave the Prime Minister a standing salute.

People are currently actively participating in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign run by Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign officially began on Saturday and it will last through Monday.
