Money Laundering Case: ED searches National Herald Office

Guwahati: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at the National Herald newspaper’s official facilities on Tuesday, days after Congress head Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul were questioned by the agency for their involvement in a money laundering case connected to the publication.

According to reports, the ED is conducting raids at more than a dozen sites, including the Delhi office of a daily. The investigation agency may conduct raids at various locations in Kolkata.

The claim of alleged financial irregularities in the newspaper’s owner, the Congress-promoted Young Indian Private Limited, is the subject of the investigation. Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are two of Young Indian’s promoters and largest stockholders.
