Morigaon Police Capture Third Escapee from District Jail in Andhra Pradesh

Morigaon— In a significant development, Morigaon police have successfully apprehended Mohammad Ziarul Islam, the third of five inmates who escaped from Morigaon District Jail. His capture took place in the Sullurupeta area of Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh.

Ziarul Islam, originally from Kalakuchi village in Sonitpur district and held under the POCSO Act, was serving a sentence related to a case registered at the Mikirbheta police station when he orchestrated a dramatic jailbreak alongside four other inmates. The escape, which authorities described as reminiscent of a movie plot, captured the attention of law enforcement and the public alike.

Following the breakout, a multi-state manhunt was initiated, with police tracking the escapees beyond Assam’s borders. The successful capture of Ziarul Islam underscores the diligence and coordination of law enforcement agencies in tracking down fugitives and ensuring public safety.

Authorities continue their search for the remaining escapees as they work to restore order and security following the alarming incident.
