Guwahati: In a shocking incident, the mother of a three-day-old infant sold him to transgender people in the Chariadeo district of Assam.
According to reports, the community claimed that the infant’s mother, identified as Banesha Khatun, sold the child to two transgender people in Sivasagar, which led to Banesha’s arrest.
The police also arrested the two transgenders, identified as Pari Dutta and Kunam Hazarika along with two middlemen, identified as Julekha Khatun and Jurina Begum, who helped with the transaction.
However, the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.
