Guwahati: Assam along with Meghalaya Police successfully rescued a mother and her child from the grasp of kidnappers in the Dhubri district.
One of the kidnappers was detained. Police reported that he has been identified as 23-year-old Moni Zaman.
According to reports, the mother and her 1-and-a-half-year-old child were abducted from West Garo Hills district’s Rongkhon Bazar last month.
It is learned that the victims were taken to the Dhubri area and imprisoned at a location known as Beltuli.
Police said the accused person has been allegedly threatening the girl and her family members continuously.
The accused was taken into jail by the court on Monday.
