MP: 5-Year-Old Sustains Severe Burn Injuries In School
Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a five years old sustained severe burn injuries after falling into a utensil filled with hot daal.
According to reports, the incident took place at a primary school in Baansla of Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
Reportedly, the incident occurred when students at a primary school in Baansla was receiving their daily lunch.
The victim has been identified as Tejashwari Tandiya was standing in line with her classmates when chaos broke out and they began pushing and shoving one another. The child fell into the boiling daal pot where she suffered a 30% burn to her body.
The child was immediately taken by ambulance to a local hospital in Bhanupratappur. She was then transferred to the district hospital where she is now undergoing treatment.
According to reports, school administrators broke the rules of the midday meal programme by failing to make sure that the pupils were seated while food was being served.
A team has been assembled to investigate the situation and take necessary action against anyone found accountable for the gross carelessness that caused the unfortunate tragedy. The concerned officials have been given a show-cause notice.
Parents and locals sparked outrage over the incident and demanded strict action against the school authorities.
“We are taking appropriate action against the concerned teachers and a show-cause notice has been issued to them. We are trying to ensure that such an incident does not happen again,” he added.
Moreover, the Madhya Pradesh Government has promised to take all the necessary steps to ensure the safety of students receiving mid-day meals in school.
