MP Gaurav Gogoi Raises Alarm Over Devastating Floods in Assam, Urges Immediate Relief

Guwahati, 8th July: Member of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi has sounded the alarm on the severe flooding crisis in Assam, highlighting the tragic loss of 78 lives due to relentless rains across the state. In a tweet posted on July 8, Gogoi provided a detailed account of the widespread devastation caused by the ongoing deluge.

Representing the Kaliabor constituency, Gogoi has been actively engaged in assessing the ground situation firsthand. His recent visits to areas in and around Jorhat have revealed a grim reality, with submerged homes and families forced to evacuate.

Beyond the immediate threat to life and property, Gogoi underscored the far-reaching impact of the floods, including substantial losses in crops and livestock. He expressed grave concerns over the implications for food security and the livelihoods of residents in flood-affected regions.
