Myanmar Nationals Escape from Temporary Jail In Manipur

Guwahati: At least three people from Myanmar who were arrested by the law escaped from a detention facility in Manipur on Monday.

According to reports, the incident occured at 8 a.m. on Sunday near Sadbhavna Mandap in Churachandpur district.

According to the police, the Myanmarese known as Wimnintay, Win Naing Thon and Biaka were caught under the Foreigners Act for breaking Indian immigration laws and were being held at the Churachandpur district’s temporary jail. Biaka was imprisoned on March 29, 2022 while Wimnintay and Thon had been there since April 4, 2021.

According to reports, the three prisoners broke out of the jail and were found missing on Sunday morning.

The Myanmar nationals have been charged with violating IPC Sections 224 (obstruction to lawful arrest) and 34 (acts committed by many people to advance a single purpose), according to a police official.
