Guwahati: In yet another shocking incident, a woman was recovered dead in a mysterious condition at a rehab centre in Kharguli area of Guwahati on Wednesday.
Now, whether the shabby conditions at the rehab centres in Guwahati have led to the death of the inmate or not is still a mystery, however, the proprietor during a conversation with the media claimed that the inmate had committed suicide in the wee hours.
The deceased originally hailed from Pathsala in the Bajali district, informed the proprietor.
“She was a psychiatric patient and has attempted suicide earlier before staying for rehab. My daughter also took care of her during her stay, but, suddenly at around 4 am we found her dead in her room. We couldn’t believe she is no more, as she was recovering well,” said the proprietor.
The police have recovered the deceased woman’s body and have submitted it for a post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the deceased person’s family has charged the rehab facility for negligence.
Earlier, one Sumitta Kumar Das (20) was found dead under mysterious circumstances and sources informed that he was not doing well for the last 10 days. He originally hailed from Dergaon under the Golaghat district.
According to authorities, the young man’s family members also stated that he had been ill for a few days.
Police from Dispur also arrived at the scene and recovered the body.
The responsible authorities have not formally revealed the cause of death to the media since the investigation into the death is still ongoing.
On the other side, the proprietor of the rehab centre had allegedly denied making any comments on the issue.
