Mystery Surrounds Murder of Assam Teen in Bengaluru

A chilling mystery shrouds the gruesome murder of a 19-year-old Assam girl, Maya Gogoi, in a service apartment in Bengaluru. The promising young woman, granddaughter of former Assam cabinet minister Indra Gogoi, was found brutally stabbed to death on Tuesday, November 26.

Maya, a bright student and aspiring vlogger, had recently moved to Bengaluru to pursue her career. She was staying with her elder sister and was under the care of her maternal uncle. However, a tragic twist of fate cut her life short.

The prime suspect, 21-year-old Aarav Hanoy from Kerala, was arrested after a brief manhunt. CCTV footage revealed that the duo had checked into the service apartment on November 23. On the day of the murder, Aarav was seen leaving the apartment alone and subsequently switching off his phone.

A foul odor emanating from Maya’s room alerted the service apartment staff, leading to the gruesome discovery. The police investigation revealed multiple stab wounds, including a fatal chest injury.

While the exact motive behind the murder remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest a premeditated act. The police recovered a kitchen knife and nylon rope, both believed to be used in the crime, from the apartment.

As the investigation deepens, the city is left shocked and mourning the untimely demise of a young life.
